Let’s Rewind: December

Just like that, twenty-twenty is coming to an end. What a very surreal year it has been but at the same time, it feels like it has flown by. December is usually a pretty busy month for me with work and everything that comes along with Christmas. This year hasn’t felt as busy but I decided to use some of the free time I had to virtually hang out with my family and friends online via video and while I haven’t spent as much time playing video games this month, it has been nice to slow down a little bit.

Animal Crossing New Horizons

A lot of my time when I have been gaming has been spent playing Animal Crossing. I talked a little bit about what I had been up to lately in-game in my previous blog post but the game has honestly been a nice escape for a few hours most days. Tonight I’m looking forward to hanging out with my villagers and counting down to 2021 in-game.

Cyberpunk 2077

Oh Cyberpunk, I feel like I’ve got a bit of a love-hate relationship with you at the moment. While I’m still enjoying the story of the game, having to start over as my save corrupted and a number of bugs (although significantly less than before the first few patches) I’ve been feeling a bit disheartened with the game. However, I’m not going to give up on the game right now but I’ll probably take a break before starting again. I’m still optimistic that the game will be great fun to play through and explore as well as waiting to find out more about the Cyberpunk multiplayer at some point in the new year.

Immortals Fenyx Rising

I originally rented this from Boomerang Games as I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it or not. There was something about it that I was unsure about but to be completely honest, I’m loving this game so much that I picked up a copy in the post-Christmas sales! I have no idea how far through I am, I tend to go off exploring as well as getting distracted along the way. There’s just something about the game that keeps drawing me in and keeps me wanting to play. I definitely know I’ll be picking up the season pass for the game too!

While twenty-twenty has been a peculiar year, there has been plenty of amazing games released to explore, embark on epic adventures, create new memories, and more. Here’s to another year of incredible games!

Happy New Year!
