Let’s Rewind: November

It seems a little hard to believe that both the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 have now launched. With everything that has happened this year, it felt like time was going so slowly while we waited for the new generation of gaming to arrive. Now that it is here, I can’t wait to check out all the upcoming games!

November has been a somewhat normal kind of month for me. My partner and I picked up our new Xbox Series X at launch and have been playing a number of different games together with friends these past few weeks. Even while we have been in lockdown again, it’s been great to be able to still catch up with friends through video games until we can safely see one another in person again.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town

This has been a game I’ve wanted to pick up for a few months now but was waiting until I could find a physical at a good price. While it had been a little difficult to get hold of initially I finally got hold of a copy. I was excited to play especially after growing up playing some of the Harvest Moon games here and there. I’ve only played for a few hours so far so I’m still learning the ropes of the game and getting my farm set up but it’s starting to come together which is nice.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War

I know, I know. My partner and I said we wouldn’t get it but we caved. It was the Zombies game mode that sold it to us. While I’ve only just started playing Zombies over the last few days (which has been great fun so far) I’ve spent a lot of time playing some good old Team Death Match and Domination in multiplayer. I’m nowhere near the best at any Call of Duty game, I like to run out at the wrong moments, use the weirdest setups that make no sense and fail a lot but overall I’m enjoying myself.

Just Dance 2021

While I haven’t had a chance to properly play the new Just Dance 2021, I’ve had a quick flick through some of the songs and I can’t wait to have some fun and make a fool of myself while trying to keep up with each move!

The Sims 4: Snowy Escape

I talked a little bit about The Sims 4: Snowy Escape last month and how I was excited about the new expansion. Despite a couple of technical issues, I’ve had great fun exploring Mt. Komorebi and discovering all the new features of the expansions. I’ve loved building again and my current family has been great fun to play with so far. I still feel like I have so much I can do with Snowy Escape plus all the other packs for The Sims 4 too. I am intrigued to see how next year will play out for The Sims 4 as a whole but for now, I’m happy playing in the snow of Mt. Komorebi.

What games have you been looking forward to playing? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I have finally got around to starting Control, playing that now! As I wait for my Series S to be delivered this December, I have also played Call of Duty – as a longtime Zombies fan I am slightly underwhelmed by the one new map, especially as it is an extension of a previous map. I hope the DLC maps are great!

    1. I hope your Series S arrives soon! I’ve been out of playing Zombies for so long that even though it’s not a very big map, it’s been a nice reintroduction to the game mode again. Looking forward to seeing what new maps for both Zombies and Multiplayer that they add in the future.
