Nintendo Switch Trade-Ins and Forgotten Games

Over the past weekend I had planned to take a trip to my local GAME store to trade in my Xbox One ahead of the upcoming Xbox Series X release. Initially I was just going to be trading in my console and a few games but as this was going to be a rare visit to my local store, I had a quick look at my PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch games. I wasn’t planning on trading these in but I knew I had a handful of games I no longer played or had lost interest in. After a quick look through I had a small collection of games ready to trade in.

Just Dance 2019 & Just Dance 2020

I loved playing both of these games but over the last few months I had stopped playing them in favour for Wii Fit and Ring Fit Adventure. I knew I would be trading these in eventually ahead of Just Dance 2021’s release but decided now was the time to do it.

Cities Skylines: Nintendo Switch Edition

I played this maybe once or twice and only for a few hours if that. At the time I thought it was going to be fun being able to play Cities Skylines on the go or just away from my PC/Xbox but I really just didn’t get on with it and decided to stick with the Xbox One edition going forward.

My Time At Portia

This is another game that I picked up, played for a few hours and then never touched it again. Funnily enough I forgot I had purchased the game on Steam as well. Nothing wrong with the game itself, it was just time for me to part ways with it and have it find a new home.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster

This was the most surprising trade in out of everything I took down to GAME. I bought this on sale about this time last year and I played maybe five to ten hours but I just couldn’t get into the game on the Nintendo Switch. Maybe it was because it was on a smaller scale as I was mainly playing it handheld or I couldn’t get on with the controls, I’m not sure. There was just something that didn’t click for me.

After trading in these and a handful of PlayStation 4 games I had a look at the games they had instore. I ended up picking up Forager, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker and Yoshi’s Crafted World all from the pre-owned section. All three of these games have been ones I’ve had my eye on for a little while now.

However once I got home I had a quick scroll through my digital games on my Nintendo Switch and came across a few games I had forgotten about. Hollow Knight, Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY!, Golf Story and Moonlighter are just a few of the games I forgot I had in my library that I need to sit down and play at some point.

I guess it’s relativley easy to foget just how many games there are out there and even in our own collections. My backlog will never stop growing at this rate but I’m looking forward to rediscovering these games and so many more!
