You may have seen me mention one or two times about Boomerang Games on the blog. In fact, I’ve been subscribed to their rental service for about four months now and I have to admit it has been one of the best choices I’ve made. I should also add you can also buy games directly from them too!
I pay £9.99 a month and I can have one game at a time rented out but I can rent as many games as I want within that month. There are a number of different subscription plans some of which are cheaper and some of which are more expensive. There is plenty of variety to the plans and there is definitely a plan that will suit everyone’s budget. Of course, you can change your plan as well at any time.
One of the reasons why I decided to sign up to Boomerang Games in the first place was because now that I had moved out I wasn’t going to have as much disposable income as I had before due to rent and bills. Boomerang Games has given me the opportunity to still be able to play new releases and also many other games that I’ve wanted to try out as well for one easily affordable price per month. Since signing up I have already saved over £300 and that will continue to grow over time as well.
So far I have rented a variety of games all of which have been delivered promptly and within a couple of days from when the previous one has been sent back. It’s always an amazing feeling seeing that little grey wallet posted through the door after a long day at work.
Most of the games I have rented have been for PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch (In fact you can rent games not only for current generation consoles but also Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation Vita and more.) and have been games that I’ve wanted to play for a while or ones that I was not too sure I would like initially. By renting the games it has given me the opportunity to play them to see if I do or don’t like them without having to worry about money. Games like Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana, Lost Sphear (which I loved) and Nier Automata are just a few of the games which fall into that category.
Currently, I have a nice selection of about twenty games that I want to play and try out over the next few months. I tend to swap and change them around as and when depending on what I’m interested in. I’ve got a couple of new releases and a few upcoming games saved as well to try out once they have been released.
Overall though I can not fault Boomerang Games service or the vast variety of games they have available to rent across a number of different platforms. I’m definitely happy with all the games I have rented so far and really I can’t fault anything about Boomerang Games at all.
