My Month In Gaming: June

I’m really not going to lie but where has June gone?  It’s been such a hectic month with moving house and starting a new job and it hasn’t really left me much time for gaming so this will be a bit of a different My Month In Gaming post this time around. Also, it was E3 this month which I spent a lot of time watching and then reading up about all the new games coming out over the next year.

First up I’ve been playing a lot of The Sims 4 this month especially the new Seasons expansion pack. I’ve really been enjoying it so far and I feel like it has brought a lot of people back into the franchise. Not only that I have seen some of the incredible builds from Simmers. For me, though I’ve loved playing through each season and discovering what is new and also creating my own little builds as well.

I’ve also been trying to complete some more of Pokemon Ultra Moon. It honestly is taking me ages to complete and I’m not sure why. Before with Pokemon games, I could easily sit and play for a few hours but with Pokemon Ultra Moon I only seem to be able to play for about an hour before I start to get bored. I have however got to just about halfway with Pokemon Crystal. I just need to beat the Pokemon League in Jhoto and then I can move on to the Kanto Region.

One last game that I’ve picked back up again over the last few days has been Final Fantasy XV. I honestly forgot about how much I love this game. I’ve mainly jumped back into playing Comrades but I’m really tempted to start New Game+ once I’ve completed a few more bits from my first playthrough.

As for game pickups this month I did get a few new games. A couple I’ve had on pre-order for a while and strangely enough, they are all Nintendo games as well! So this months new games are Mario Tennis Aces & Harvest Moon: Light of Hope for Nintendo Switch and I also picked up Detective Pikachu (out of curiosity) and also Harvest Moon Skytree Village for the 3DS. I’ve only just got the two Nintendo 3DS games in the post this morning so it will be a little while before I get to them. Mario Tennis Aces are loads of fun and a great game that you can pick up and put down and Harvest Moon: Light of Hope is good fun so far but I’ve only played a couple of hours so far.

Also this month I’ve signed up for Boomerang Games. Now you might be wondering what/who they are. Well based in the UK Boomerang Games allow you to rent a variety of games both new and old from just £3.99 a month across a variety of consoles. Not only that you can also buy games from them as well. I added a few games to my rental list which were Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy X/X2 Remaster and Nier Automata. I have my account set to send me any game from my list but you can change it to suit your own preference. The first game that I’ve been sent is Nier Automata and it arrived the very next day!

As I need to watch my money a little bit I thought Boomerang Games would be brilliant to get behind as it will allow me to still try out new games, play older games and more without breaking the bank account. If you want to find out more about Boomerang Games go check out their website here.

I’m going to skip the games that I’m trying to complete this month for two reasons. The first being I haven’t had time to do so with everything that has been going on this month and the second reason is really that I’ve started to lose interest in those games a bit except for Super Mario Odyssey. I do still want to complete them but I will probably look at choosing three different games for July.

That’s it for this months My Month In Gaming blog post. I hope you’ve enjoyed it and I’ll be back at the end of July with the next My Month In Gaming!
