I’ve already talked a little bit about this year’s E3 press conference’s in an earlier blog post where I talked about some of my thoughts on Xbox, Bethesda and EA Play. You can check that blog post out here.
Starting off with Sony I caught up with this Tuesday morning a few hours after the press conference happened. Although Sony did have some incredible games to show many of which I am really excited for but I wasn’t as blown away as I was with Xbox’s press conference but it was still a pretty awesome press conference. It’s also the first one from Sony that I have really paid attention too in regards to the games coming out that are exclusive to PlayStation.
As for the games that stood out most to me, they were The Last of Us: Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and Destiny 2: Forsaken. Death Stranding has also got me really intrigued and wanting to know more about the game yet at the same time I’m still really unsure.
Square Enix on the other hand despite their press conference being a little bit shorter had me excited for the upcoming Shadow of the Tomb Raider game, Kingdom Hearts III, A Quiet Man, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit and also the Final Fantasy XIV x Monster Hunter Worlds crossover event.
Can I just say how excited I am for Captain Spirit! The concept of the game and the fact it is adding to the Life is Strange universe!
Next up Ubisoft. As much as I’m not a big fan of Just Dance I did like how Ubisoft used it as the opening for their press conference. The two main games that had my attention was The Division 2 and of course Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (despite it being leaked prior to E3.) I really enjoyed The Division first time around and feel that The Division 2 is going amazing and I’m really looking forward to it. The same with the upcoming Assassin’s Creed too although I do need to complete Assassin’s Creed Unity as well first.
Lastly, Nintendo. There was a lot of hype on social media about this Nintendo Direct. We knew that there would be more information about Super Smash Bro’s Ultimate which there was along with the games release date and even though Nintendo did showcase plenty of games, I felt that the Direct its self didn’t have the same feel as it normally does.
As for the games, there is plenty to look forward to over the coming month’s including Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, Super Mario Party, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Mario and Rabbids Downloadable content. A surprise reveals after the Direct was that the Splatoon 2 Octoexpansion was dropping a lot sooner than we thought and is currently downloading as I write this post. I do always look forward to seeing what Nintendo has been working on and as usual, I can’t wait to get stuck into some of the games they have in store for us over the next few months especially Super Smash Bros Ultimate in at the start of December!
E3 as a whole though has been filled with so many incredible games many of which I am looking forward to playing at some point over the coming months. As to which game I’m going to start off with or the one individual game I am most excited for and stands out for me I really don’t know.
Let me know what your favourite games revealed at E3 are in the comments below!
